About Us/Contact Us

So much change and growth has taken place since my humble beginnings in August of 2009 when I started South Florida Food and Wine as a blog on blogger. I focused on all things food, wine and events. This modest platform served as a launch pad for my first book being published, the Food Lovers’ Guide to Miami & Fort Lauderdale (Globe Pequot Press, $14.95) in November 2011.

In the past ten years that unassuming little blog evolved into a hospitality marketing company that celebrates the food & drink culture through events, seminars, interviews, and feature articles. The single most critical fact I’ve learned in these past ten years is to swim with the tide. While that’s not always easy, I’ve learned to accept that everything runs its course, and when it’s done, it’s done; and now it’s time for the next chapter. Sometimes that’s easier said than done, but choosing to be an entrepreneur is choosing to live in a constant cycle of evolution.

Being a certified sommelier opened doors to teaching opportunities at Lynn University and Florida International University. Stemming from the educational classes came facilitating series’ of food and wine pairing seminars for the general public which then morphed into producing culinary events with local South Florida restaurants, festivals, and lifestyle events for the City of Oakland Park.

From the outside looking in the South Florida Food and Wine lifestyle is a fabulous one, indulging in copious amounts of food and wine and going to events five nights a week. Letting that fabulousness take control can wreck havoc on one’s balance. The discovery of juices, smoothies, and a semi-vegetarian lifestyle has assisted in regaining that lost balance. Funny thing is I’ve yet to have a hangover drinking too much green juice. Fittingly, the next chapter in the South Florida Food and Wine world is about balance and embracing a healthier lifestyle.

Green juice will never take the place of a luxurious Pinot Noir, but it will assist in appreciating it so much more.

Cheers! to the next chapter,
